“Commemorating 76 Years of Freedom: Reflecting on the Past, Shaping our Future”
The 77th Independence Day was celebrated at KCM World School with great enthusiasm and respect for the sacrifices made by our freedom fighters. The day also coincided with the Partition Horrors Remembrance Day, which was observed to remember the tragic events of the partition of India in 1947.
The celebration commenced with the unfurling of the national flag , followed by the rendition of the national anthem . The flag, soaring high against the azure sky, symbolized the spirit of freedom and unity.
Thought-provoking speeches were delivered by students, highlighting the significance of independence and the importance of preserving unity and harmony. The cultural performances included patriotic songs, dances that depicted the rich cultural heritage of India and skits that portrayed the struggles faced by our ancestors during the freedom struggle and the traumatic experiences of partition
As part of the special focus on Partition Horrors Remembrance Day, a solemn moment of silence was observed to pay tribute to those who suffered during the partition. A short documentary and a presentation were also organized, educating the students about the historical context and the stories of resilience amidst the turmoil.
